- Bradley Cooper – Silver Linings Playbook
- Maybe a sleeper. Wonderful flick. I would marry him even he doesn't win. He has proved he's not just another pretty face.
- Daniel Day-Lewis – Lincoln
- Oscar loves a great historical re-creation and Lewis was perfect even if the film wasn't.
- Hugh Jackman – Les Misérables
- Prejudiced here . His performance is amazing. He's certainly one of the most versatle actors working today. Wolverine to Boy From Oz. Easy on the eyes and totally likable. He inhabitated this role. Astounding.
- Joaquin Phoenix – The Master
- You know I hated this movie, but I did admire Phoenix's performance. If he can win an Oscar for being so disturbing as to make a friend walk out of the movie.
- Denzel Washington – Flight
- Fine performance, not enough substance to the film to let him win. And the trite ending... Well, I just can't see it.
